BACK PAIN
We don’t think much about our backs unless something hurts, so we don’t often think about back pain treatment. The truth is that our backs are a complex system of muscles, nerves, discs, tendons, and small interlocking bones that support our body, posture, and movement. Because of the complexity of our backs, it can often suffer from issues that cause pain and discomfort which can go from uncomfortable to excruciating. When these issues arise, back pain treatment is necessary to restore natural function, posture, and mobility.
Lower Back Pain
Lower back pain is the most common type of ailment we see here at Wellington Health & Wellness Center. The source of lower back pain can be a number of things including irritated nerve roots, strained lower back muscles, damaged bones or ligaments, or even the degeneration of intervertebral discs. Lower back pain can spread to the legs and other body parts as well as causing muscle spasms that may severely limit your mobility.
Upper Back Pain
Upper Back pain, although much less common than lower back pain, is also another condition we often treat. Upper back pain happens in the thoracic spine (which goes mid-to-upper back) and is regularly caused by muscular irritation, joint dysfunction, or injury to a disc. Our upper backs are designed to provide support and stability, so upper back pain will often affect our posture, standing or sitting.
